4 Reasons Why Body Butter Is Better Than Lotion

Cherish U®

What is Body Butter?

Body butters are creamy, intense moisturizers that are designed to deeply nourish, lubricate, and provide deep long-lasting moisture to your skin. Body butters usually have little to no water in them and have thicker texture than lotion.

Body butters tend to be heavier than lotion and can sometimes feel greasy. We whip our body butter to aerate them here at Cherish U™ so they are fluffy, lightweight, and easier to spread on the skin. We also incorporate ingredients that help cut the oiliness as well as help it to absorb more quickly into the skin.
Cherish U®Both body butter and lotion can be effective at moisturizing and rehydrating the skin, but there are times when body butter is just plain needed. There is a time and place for everything, after all. You may reach for lotion when you need just lightweight moisture, but when you need a more intensive moisturizer that will keep your skin hydrated and glowing, body butter is the way to go.

As you can tell, we are fans of body butter here at Cherish U™. Check out the top reasons why we think you should use body butter instead of lotion below:

1. Deep Hydration: Body butters are infused with lovely butters such as shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter and other vegetable-based oils that penetrate deeply into the skin to achieve incredibly smooth healthy-looking skin. These oils and butters help lubricate and soften the skin by creating a protective barrier to retain moisture.

2. Long- Lasting Moisturizing Action: Body butter keeps skin hydrated for hours by locking in the moisture, so it is best to be applied to pre-dampened skin. During the winter months, it is a good idea to give your skin a little extra love with the body butter. To prevent dry skin, apply body butter before you go to bed and let it treat and deeply penetrate the skin surface overnight.

3. Treating those Extra Dry Areas: Lotion can not treat those extra dry areas like body butter can.  It is great for treating those areas prone to dryness like the elbows, knees, and heels. When your hands and feet feel severely dry, apply body butter, and go to bed with cotton gloves and socks to help the moisturizer soak into your skin and prevent it from rubbing off. By morning you will see and feel the difference.

4. Reduce Stretch Marks or Scars: If you are looking to boost elasticity in your skin, body butter is the way to go. Butters are high in elasticity boosting omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants which help to nourish and revitalize the skin.
